Police say a man in his 20s is dead after a single-vehicle crash in
Ottawa's rural south end.
Emergency crews responded to the crash on Franktown Road, west of Dwyer
Hill Road, just after 1:30 a.m. Friday morning.
Fire says the vehicle struck a hydro pole and ended up on its side in a
ditch, with hydro wires across it.
Ottawa crews arrived on scene to secure the pole so emergency personnel
could treat the patients.
say the passenger of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and
the driver received minor injuries.
cause of the crash is under investigation. Police say they'll be
looking at a number of factors into what may have caused it including
weather, alcohol, speed or distraction.
